Brand Marketing, Presenter & Education Manager I Hong Kong

Elizabeth’s (Beth) career could be described as a love affair with food and wine. She has worked in wine for over 25 years and is very active and well known in the Australian industry by winemakers, media and colleagues. Initially starting in hospitality and retail, Beth joined Treasury Wine Estates in 2001 and has gained credentials in logistics, digital and direct wine marketing, brand management and national and key account sales. 

Whilst working in Australia, Beth has held the role of Fine Wine Ambassador in Sydney, working with Australia’s top chefs and sommeliers in fine dining. This role also covered wine events, dinners and tastings along with education for Consumers, our Customers and Staff, which Beth finds a great opportunity to engage people in brands and wines. When people understand wine, its provenance and how best to enjoy it, this translates into sales and brand loyalty that can last for a lifetime. 

After eight years of volunteering at the Royal Sydney Wine Show, Beth was promoted to 2IC of the show itself. Beth has also assisted Court of Master Sommeliers Franck Moreau, Head Sommelier at Merivale, Australia’s most premium hotel and restaurant group, based in Sydney, facilitating the annual Concours des Vins Wine Show with the French Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Now in Hong Kong Elizabeth has been Manager of the HK International Wine Beer & Spirit Competition, returns to Australia annually to oversee the Melbourne International Competition & assists with the New York International Beer, Wine, Spirits, Cheese & Chocolate Competition.

A member of the Australian Sommelier’s Association, Beth also contributed as a committee member for the Sydney Chapter of the Wine Communicators of Australia (WCA), and is in league with the association to set up an Asian Chapter, based in Hong Kong. Beth has worked as an Associate Wine Show Judge for the NSW Wine the Boutique Wine Awards as a Judge and by the Restaurant & Catering Association of NSW as a Restaurant Critic.  

Beth has completed WSET Level Three with Merit is currently studying the Diploma.. Beth is a published wine reviewer and has been on the National Liquor News and Australian Hotelier magazine tasting panel for over seven years. Beth has also been had articles published articles and copywriting for food, wine & tourism, predominantly in the luxury realm throughout South East Asia.

Having commenced a Master’s Degree of Gastronomic Tourism with Le Cordon Bleu Academy in Paris in 2013, Beth has a keen interest not just in wine, but in food, it’s history, regionality and the people behind it – a love of food and wine matching is at the heart of what Beth enjoys about working within the industry the most.

Beth has produced a weekly food and wine radio show in Sydney and enjoys communicating with people through the media. This interest in food and wine has led Beth to travel to many wine regions in Australia including the Hunter Valley, Canberra District, Eden and Clare Valleys, Barossa Valley, Coonawarra, King Valley, Mornington Peninsula, Yarra Valley, The Grampians and Margaret River. International wine destinations include Champagne, Tuscany, South Africa, Japan and Vietnam. Beth has also had winemaking experience in The Grampians and Yarra Valley, Victoria, along with Penfolds and Wolf Blass in the Barossa Valley.

Since arriving in Hong Kong in 2014 Beth has worked as a Brand Ambassador & Educator in Macau, China, Taiwan & Singapore as well as locally. Her growing interest in Food, Travel and more recently Wellness has spread her experience further afield than wine and she now specializes in Events and Marketing across these categories.
